Walton is introduced on the flap as a college graduate and first-time author. The books is summarized as being about Tretch's attempts to find a boyfriend, while living in a small town, attending church, and otherwise existing in extremely dull circumstances. Tretch is interested in his straight best friend, and is being bullied as being gay at school, while at least one girl is flirting with him because Tretch still hasn't come out of the closet. The most exciting part of the summary is that apparently, Tretch spends a lot of time "dancing alone in his room," but sadly, the book opens with an actual sermon in a church, and not with his attempts to boogie his way into a straight boy's pants. While it's great that this is a more original teenage angst story than that of a teenage girl crushing on guys, it's lacking in the depth that might have really said something about the life of a small town Bible Belt teen. …
