In a riverside park

the wooden bridge I walk

gives back to my foot

its harmonic vibration-

in tune with my step then not.

A man in love with a woman

finds her responsive passion

an answering other nature-

a mirror of inner desire-

both inside-outsides together

sharing a deep interior.

In lovemaking the two come home

similar and different in form

going out for a desired return

though the beginning may be uncertain.

Each bridges for the other-

vibrating sometimes in tune

like these wooden planks over water-

suspending the two in between

one bank of time and the other.

But in falling out of tune

the two are on their own

vibrating to random statics

of car and cell phone traffics-

each with private obsessions

not disloyal to the other

as with another lover

just being the different persons

everyone usually is

in times not joined by passion. …
