Again, the annual WoW Festival was presented by the La Jolla Playhouse in California. It is a parallel to the Under the Radar Festival of the New York Public Theater, but there is a difference. WoW stands for Without Walls. While the presentations in the New York UTR Festival take place on stages, the twenty-some productions of the WoW Festival are in found spaces-many of them sites that relate to the performances. One of the 2014 UTR productions was Cineastas by the Argentine Mariano Pensotti. It is discussed by Will Snider. The play is presented on a double decker stage-one above the other. Because of the double stage, we are able to see the lives of four Argentinian filmmakers and their films simultaneously.

As always, this issue of TheatreForum contains the scripts of two plays not previously published. In Men on Boats, the form is the content. It tells an antique tale of early American adventurers in the wilds of the west, but is unusual because of its gender fluid cast. The author, Jaclyn Backhaus, demands that we (re)consider our history: both the narrative we tell, and who tells the narrative. …
