Since our spring issue, President Obama nominated current National Labor Relations Board Member Kent Y. Hirozawa for reappointment to a five-year term that would expire on August 27, 2021. Hirozawa was previously confirmed by the Senate on July 30, 2013, for a term that expires on August 27,2016. The president announced the nomination on April 28.

Prior to serving on the Board, Hirozawa was chief counsel to NLRB Chairman Mark Pearce from 2010 to 2013. Before that, he was a partner in the New York law firm Gladstein, Reif and Meginniss LLP from 1990 to 2010, and an associate from 1986 to 1989. The nominee previously served as a field attorney for Board from 1984 to 1986. He was a Second Circuit Law Clerk from 1982 to 1984. Hirozawa received a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Also, the NLRB named Patricia K. Nachand the new Regional Director for the Agency's Region 25 Office in Indianapolis. Region 25 has jurisdiction over Indiana and parts of Illinois, Iowa, and Kentucky.

At the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Jeffrey Burstein, an eight-year attorney with the agency, was appointed Regional Attorney for the New York District. …
