Bulletin of the Comediantes is happy to celebrate the publication of the first number of Volume 68 (2016), with contributions from a range of scholars on a variety of topics in early modern Spanish and colonial Latin American theater. The editors and the members of the advisory board take pride in presenting the work of scholars in the field, especially of young Hispanists who are entering the profession with solid training, research skills, and innovative ideas, and whose essays we can display with the work of senior scholars. As always, we encourage submissions from colleagues in the United States and abroad.

The journal is entering a moment of transition. After eighteen years, I will be turning over the editorship to Dr. Elizabeth R. Wright, Professor of Spanish at the University of Georgia, who was chosen by a five-member search committee from a superlative group of finalists. …
