This is a nonfiction autobiography that is also a great adventure story. Puppies, Dogs, and Blue Northers was written by Gary Paulsen. Since he is an experienced Iditarod racer, he knows quite a lot about raising sled dogs and what it is like to live with them. In this book, Gary takes his dogs out for a practice run even though one of them, Cookie, is in heal. He made Cookie go for the practice because she was the lead sled log. It was funny, though, because right in the middle of the practice, Cookie decides to breed with another dog. Well, Cookie didn't get to race that year, but her puppies were in the race.

This book made me feel amused because the dogs were so beautiful to read about. …
