Dear Colleagues,

This issue, I write my Editor's Note from Tokushima, Japan, where my husband and I have spent the last four months teaching at Shikoku University as part of a faculty exchange program. I have not only experienced and learned about a whole new array of material culture and cultural landscapes, but I can even more appreciate the allowances technology grants, as I can travel to the other side of the world and still complete my work on the journal.

In this issue, I present three research articles and a Food Geography bibliography. First, Dr Laura Macaluso examines the cultural history and significance of the New Haven (CT) Medal. Next, Dr. John Cross explores the landscapes created by Amish dairy farmers in Wisconsin, and what makes these landscapes different from others in Amish communities. The final research article is by Virginia Price, who tracks the history of the Thoroughgood House in Virginia, particularly the changes to its preservation that resulted from various understandings about the house's origins. The last piece in this issue is a follow-up bibliography on the Geography of Food by Thomas Rumney. …
