As the worldwide population gets older, there is a growing concern about mental health information for the aging. There are a number of web resources available for the aging population, as well as for caregivers and service providers who are in need of information on mental health and aging adults:

* World Health Organization Fact Sheet (http://www.who.int/mediacentre/fact sheets/fs381/en). This fact sheet, provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), looks at the global impact of mental health issues for the aging population. It explains data relating to aging and mental health as well as giving examples of risk factors for mental health problems as people age. There is also information about treatments and what the WHO is doing internationally to address the concern of mental health of those over sixty years of age.

* National Institute of Mental Health (http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/ older-adults-and-mental-health/index.shtml). The National Institute of Mental Health provides links to various sources of information, specifically about depression and Alzheimer's disease. This website emphasizes that depression is not just a normal aspect of aging, but that it is a medical illness. There is also information about current clinical trials and studies that are being conducted in the area of mental health in older adults.

* American Psychological Association (http://www.apa.org/about/gr/issues/ aging/mental-health.aspx). The American Psychological Association (APA) provides statistical information regarding some of the more common mental health concerns for aging Americans, such as anxiety, depression, and suicide.
