Business meeting was called to order at 10:40 am by President Ron Hanson.

Papers distributed to the attendees included:

* Conference evaluation sheets,

* Committee sign up sheets for new members,

* Lists of those who have not paid their 2003 membership dues,

* List of conference participants.

Minutes of the 2002 Business Meeting were approved as printed in the September, 2002, NACTA Journal.

Motions were passed to accept Secretary/Treasurer, and Editor reports.

Foy Mills made a motion that Rick and Marilyn Parker receive commendation for their efforts in NACTA. Motion passed.

Jean Gleischner gave the Foundation report. Motion passed to accept the report. Kevin Donnelly noted Gerry Posler's efforts in soliciting funds for the NACTA Foundation in behalf of the friends of Dave Mugler. The Secretary/Treasure reported that a Certificate of Deposit was created from the monies donated in behalf of the Jack Everly Journal Award.

Michelle Barclay, Western Illinois University, Macomb, indicated forms are available for members for International opportunities for students. She stated that we should work together to provide students for these programs.

Under new business, Danny Terry discussed proposed changes in the Foundation Constitution and Bylaws: These changes include:

* Name change to reflect NACTA's new name in the Foundation

* Change in levels and amounts of giving

* Addition of Foundation director

A question was asked by Bruce Johnson about the legalities of the name change for NACTA.

Motion passed concerning the editing changes for the NACTA Foundation name change, Foundation levels of giving and the Foundation director. President Hanson told the members that the Foundation Director can take up to 25% of solicited funds (ie. A cap of 25%) for a salary and all associated expenses.

Wayne Banwart presented the Historian's Report and discussed plans for a meal dedicated to 50th anniversary at the conference next year. Other ideas for marking the 50th anniversary of NACTA included:

* Teaching Improvement How it has changed in the last 50 years.

* Video tape of presidents

* Any ideas are appreciated

* Commemorative piece

* Summary booklet

* Collection from archives for display

Motion was made and passed to accept changes to NACTA Constitution, as approved by the executive committee, so that the following officers are appointed for one year: Secretary/Treasurer, Historian, and Editor

Motion made and passed to change the name of the Instructional Media Exchange and Book Display committee to Instructional Media Display Committee. …
