When Vickie-Marie McGaughren resigned as PENZ National Administrator, and Simon Jackson was hired, PENZ was poised for significant change as an organisation. Simon was given the daunting task of shifting PENZ into the new millennium as a relevant, modem and dynamic professional organisation and he has responded to that challenge with gusto.

A recent weekend meeting of the Executive endorsed Simon's work with sponsors (Sports Distributors and Rixon), reviewed progress in Jump Rope for Heart, began some strategic planning and made a big impact on the style and content of the journal, but more importantly, we set about re-thinking our structure as an organisation. Simon has got on the road to visit every Branch and to meet key people in our organisation. He's injected an infectious enthusiasm into his work and seems to be operating on 10 major projects at once.

The Executive (representatives from every Branch plus the President and Vice-Presidents) has been identified as the policy making body. We'll call this body The Council from now on. Administrative decisions will be handled by an Administration Committee, which will meet frequently, face to face or by teleconference, and Simon as Executive Director will put decisions into operation. …
