Early in the new year, members will see the first signs of yet another construction project that will further enhance our headquarters building. Our main entrance fronting on the Boulevard, grand as it is, can no longer handle our number of visitors. So we are moving the main entrance around to the south side of the building, where members have been used to entering only for special events in the lecture hall.

We are not just moving our front door and welcome mat, though. We will be enclosing the large covered walkway on the south side of the building and outfitting this new space as the future home of the museum shop. In its new location, the enlarged shop will be able to serve the public with longer hours than the library and museum, something presently not possible. The old shop space will become a much-needed classroom for school groups. We will not close the Boulevard doors but will use them as a special entryway for school classes and other group tours. …
