Each volume £18.99. This reissue, and first paperback edition, of Richard Vaughan's seminal 1962-73 Dukes of Burgundy series is welcome indeed. Nothing of this scale and audacity has been written before or since on the formation, and eventual collapse, of the Burgundian state under these four Valois dukes; and Burgundian scholars wanting to own copies of Vaughan's work have hitherto been reduced to a fruitless scouring of second-hand book-dealers.
