The Basic Readings in Anglo-Saxon England series aims to collect previously published or freshly commissioned essays on a particular subject in Anglo-Saxon studies. This eighth volume is the first to devote its collection of essays to the study of a single manuscript, Oxford, Bodleian Library, Junius 11. In addition to numerous illustrations, the junius manuscript contains a collection of biblical poems believed to be written by several different authors and identified by the titles Genesis, Exodus, Daniel, and Christ and Satan.
