THE University of South Australia (UniSA) has been affiliated with the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM) through professional accreditation of the Bachelor of Business (Administrative Management) since 1995.

In support of this partnership, the IAM (UK) sponsors a prize for the most outstanding graduate from the three-year Bachelor of Business (Administrative Management) degree. This prize is presented to the top Administrative Management graduate by the Program Director at a breakfast ceremony held on the day of their graduation.

In the year 2000, we were fortunate to have former IAM Council member Ms Pat Uttley with us; she attended this function to present the award and meet with UniSA staff and students.

The most recent recipient of this prestigious award is Judith Brawley. Judith's academic excellence has been widely recognised during her time at UniSA.

From 1997 to 2001, she was included on the Dean's Merit list; in 1999 she received a UniSA Chancellor's Letter of Commendation and she was invited to become a member of the Golden Key Honours Society. Judith made the following comments about the Bachelor of Business (Administrative Management) programme:

"I was looking for career advancement and my Manager at the time recommended that I pursue a University qualification. Having considered a number of degrees, I decided to undertake the Bachelor of Business (Administrative Management).

"What I liked so much about this degree was its practicality and applicability in the workplace. I have been able to apply the skills and knowledge learnt at the University of South Australia in my current and previous positions. …
