This very personal retelling of the story of Perceval, based on Chretien's romance Le Conte del Graal, and episodes from its Continuations, is designed not for the needs of university students or academics but for the members of the general public who are interested in Arthurian romance. It gives a slightly shortened version of the adventures of Perceval as they are recounted in Le Conte del Graal, but with episodes from the Perceval Continuation attributed to Gerbert de Montreuil intercalated between the first part of Chretien's romance, which deals with Perceval up to his reception under his name at Arthur's court and departure on a quest for the Grail, and the later section which tells of his visit to his hermit uncle. …
