FOUNDED in 1853, South Staffordshire Water Plc supplies drinking water to around 1.25 million customers across an area of over 1,500 sq kilometres.

The company has grown to become one of the highest performing water companies in the industry, achieving recognised excellence in standards of Water Quality and Customer Service.

A major factor in the company's success is its people, and the company has been proactively developing the management potential of its workforce.

The most recent initiative is the 1st Xl Management Development Programme that offered individuals from around the business the opportunity to embark on an 18-month journey of exploration and discovery, learning about key areas of the business as well as management skills, techniques and practices.

As the programme draws to a close, it is with a great sense of pride that the 1st Xl receive recognition from the IAM for the many achievements and learning experiences gained during their journey.

On March 31 Andy Dixon, Stuart Whitfield, Ade Harvey, Keith Edwards, Sharron Harrison, Julie Webb, John Grocott, Steve Blower and Simon Parish received a Certificate in Management Practice from the IAM, as external recognition of the quality, content and breadth of the programme and the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants. …
