WHAT an unusual book! I feel as though I'm describing anything other than a text book when I talk about a money-back guarantee, a CD-linked support and deliberately wide margins to make notes in. It is also quite clear about the need for commitment by the reader in understanding and doing in order to meet the challenge the book sets.

If you get the impression that this is uncompromising, then remember, results are guaranteed- "dependent upon your answer to one critical question: how serious are you about making a difference?"

This is not an 'easy' book! It is certainly an easy read with a pleasant style, but the authors are at pains to point out that to get the full benefit the reader needs to give time. This is not Oneminute-manager' stuff! However, if a reader commits (and I did up to part 1 ), then it is actually difficult not to continue: I had to deliberately disengage myself in order to try and review the work dispassionately. In addition, there is constant reassurance, without being patronised, that daunting tasks (for example considering the 40 questions about 'making a difference') can be achieved, but you have to 'trust the process'. The CD makes this same point, but in itself is a comforting 'back-up'. It can be used as a stand alone device, or to complement the book, but the interesting thing is the generic nature of the content: there is much to learn personally as well as professionally here. …
