This is the third book authored by Mr. Moon, an accomplished art therapist at Harding Hospital, Worthington, Ohio, and in private practice. He is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Leslie College, Co-Director of the Clinical Internship in Art Therapy and Director of the Clinical Art Therapy Graduate Intensive Summer Program at Harding Hospital. His earlier books are Existential Art Therapy: The Canvas Mirror and Essentials of Art Therapy Training and Practice.

I agree with Shaun McNiff, Ph.D., whose Foreword describes Introduction to Art Therapy as "Bruce Moon's most passionate and convincing call for the renewal of art therapy. The book is full of the inspiration and wisdom conveyed when a pioneer honestly describes his deepest personal instincts and those of art" (p. v). Additionally, I was impressed with Moon's insightfulness, artistry, compassion, commitment, faith, and love for his profession, to which he offers his vision for renewal. I suspect that, in many ways, this text is a verbal self-portrait of the author, even as it explores prominent dilemmas and important issues fundamental to the field.

Introduction to Art Therapy must be read and experienced to do it justice. Perhaps a listing of the chapter titles will convey the scope and nature of some of the themes that are thoughtfully discussed: What's Love Got to Do With It? …
