Article excerpt

The second issue of Studies in Learning, Evaluation, Innovation and Development, a new publication published through the LEID Centre of Central Queensland University, is now available. The inaugural double issue came out in October and November of 2004, and authors and readers alike are invited to evaluate the special theme issue. The journal is an international, scholarly, peer-reviewed, electronic publication that is research based.

The focus of Studies in Learning, Evaluation, Innovation and Development is on issues that challenge educational opportunity, especially but not exclusively at the postsecondary level. REACT is designed to draw the practitioner standpoint into the scholarly publication via a system of direct mentoring to practitioner-authors in order to help them produce strong research articles, extending their practice and integrating it with related research. Submissions to this feature undergo the same anonymous referee process as all articles submitted to regular sections.

Every article submitted to Studies in Learning, Evaluation, Innovation and Development is refereed by two readers, anonymous to both the authors and other referee. A template, supplied by the Editorial Team, is used to evaluate adherence to editorial criteria for manuscripts. …
