SOME three years ago, the Institute of Administrative Management entered into a strategic alliance with the Institute of Chartered secretaries and Administrators.

This entailed the IAM outsourcing membership, student services, examinations' processing and other back office functions to the ICSA as a commercial arrangement.

The IAM has occupied space at ICSA's offices in Park Crescent, central London, over this period.

This way of doing things had certain advantages for the IAM in the short term.

However, in order to meet its future strategic aspirations, the IAM has decided that the time is now ripe to move on from this arrangement. By mutual agreement, during the early part of 2005, the IAM will disengage from the current situation and take back direct control over its processing and back office functions. …
