Oct. 21: 'Adnan al-Ghul, one of Hamas' leading figures in the Gaza Strip, was killed in an Israeli air attack on his car in Gaza City. [BBC, 10/22]

Oct. 25: Israeli troops began a two-day assault on Khan Yunis in Gaza. The army operation killed 17 Palestinians and wounded more than 80. [BBC, 10/26]

Nov. 1: A 16-year-old Palestinian blew himself up in an outdoor market in Tel Aviv, killing three Israelis and wounding 32 others. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP), a militant faction of the PLO, claimed responsibility. [NYT, 11/2]
