The following inquiry and response came across Shaving's desk recently. Perhaps some of you would like to join the discussion.

Hi guys and gals,

I am an EAIA member and am looking for the proper procedures of cataloging my [tool] collection for the purposes of insuring, knowing what I have, getting rid of duplicates etc. I have never seen an article on this subject in any of our publications. Can you or any members of EAIA get me in the right direction? I am willing to buy any reference or info necessary. If there is not any proper method of identifying each article, perhaps this is a subject for a study by me or is there some accepted museum procedure for cataloging? Thanks,
