The DKG Society for key women educators has long been known for the philanthropic ventures it promotes in the field of education worldwide. The amount of money given to members and nonmembers each year is an outcome that should be noted. DKG members can take pride in this generosity that truly has a ripple effect.

Scholarships are awarded to members by International, state organizations, and chapters. Such support is an outstanding benefit of membership. Grants-In-Aid and World Fellowship Awards are given annually to nonmembers. These nonmembers are usually pursuing a degree to impact others further.

The graphic shows the proportions of scholarships and grants-in-aid money awarded during the 2015-2016 fiscal year. Statistics are based on responses from 64 of 78 state organizations.

Section 1. State organizations awarded 26 scholarships to members: a total of $176,645. These scholarships assisted members to further their educations, attend significant conferences and seminars, and advance their knowledge and skills.

Section 2. State organizations gave 267 grants-in-aid to nonmembers: a total of $115,188. These are grants to help nonmembers further their education.

Section 3. Chapters awarded 551 scholarships to members: a total of $181,899. …
