To see a dream become reality is one of the great joys of working together with others. When I became Dean of St. Pauls Cathedral in 2012 at a time of financial and environmental stress, both global and local, and explored how to respond, it seemed to me that in the worlds cathedrals we have a Christian resource for making a global response as we work together to learn from each other, to train one another, and to share resources in working for justice in God's world. Not only would this permit us to do more with less, it would give us a stronger voice, were we to speak about a topic together, simultaneously, around the world.

The Just Water program, created through a partnership between St. Paul's Cathedral Melbourne, St. George's Cathedral Cape Town, Trinity Church Wall Street, and St. Paul's Cathedral London, is a first fruit of this vision. The topic of water was chosen both for its theological resonance, and because water is vital to every living thing on our planet: as a focus for collaboration, it is equally important for all of us, with varying emphasis depending on location. …
