This last issue of 2016 of the Journal of the Pakistan Historical Society (Historicus) comprises six research based articles.

Dr. Turab-ul-Hassan Sargana (Pakistan) discussing in his article "Punjab's Role in the War of Independence 1857-58 - An Analysis" has been able to refute the myth that Punjab remained aloof from it. He has produced evidence to belie this assumption.

From India we have a remarkable article entitled "Philosophy of History and History-Writings - With Reference to Medieval Indian History" from Prof. Dr. R. Nath, one of the leading archaeologists and historians. Having discussed the art of history-writing, he dwells on the wilful demolition of Mughul periods buildings: the royal palaces as well as gardens and havelîs on both sides of the river Jamuna at Agra. Even in the royal fort, out of 500 buildings barely 36 have survived. …
