This special number of Bunyan Studies has been guest-edited for us by Michael Davies, Anne Dunan-Page, and Joel Halcomb. Most of the seven articles included originated as papers given at a conference they organized on 'Varieties of Dissenting Expression' at Dr Williams's Library in 2014. This was the second in a series of three one-day conferences held under the auspices of the 'Dissenting Experience' project, which they established to explore the collective experience of the Dissenting churches in the period from 1600 to 1800 (see further: http://dissent.hypotheses.org). We are delighted to be able to offer readers some of the exciting work that this project has produced and are grateful to our guest editors for their work in putting the number together.

In the 'News and Reports' section we have two items. In the first, Jenna Townend reports on the highly successful Eighth Triennial Conference of the International John Bunyan Society held at Aix-en- Provence in July 2016. …
