Welcome to the final issue of the 2018 volume (Volume 14) of the Journal of Character Education. As was true of the first issue of this volume, this issue is a collection of diverse articles, including an empirical review, a conceptual model, a set of commentaries on the conceptual model, a practitioner report, and a book review.

We start with one of the few empirical reviews of best practices in the field of character education by Terence Lovat and Kerry Dally. Lovat and Dally look at a set of character education implementations in Australia to reach conclusions about best practices. We then turn to Robert McGrath's presentation of a conceptual model for identifying the prototypical characteristics of character education as a means of finding a common denominator definition of the field. We felt that this so novel and stimulating that we decided to invite three leaders in the field to write commentaries on McGrath's argument (Angela Duckworth, Blaine Fowers, and Tom Lickona). …
