Revival is a collection of fourteen hymns arranged by Tony Alonso. While most hymn accompaniments for well-known hymns are intended for use on the organ, Alonso offers piano-based ensembles a resource with fresh arrangements. His aim is to promote congregational singing, not simply provide a classic hymn with a modern sound.

In his introduction, Alonso summarizes the challenges pianists face leading hymns from organ-based accompaniments. The pianist does not always have the skill to translate the organ accompaniment into an idiomatic piano style, and thus often they avoid using hymns. Or the pianist may be a skilled improviser; yet with spontaneous arrangements that do not match the four-part arrangement found in most hymnals, the choir usually sings the melody of the hymn in unison. Alonso hopes that this collection will help piano-based ensembles keep the tradition of congregational hymn singing alive.
