Carolyn Argentati, Donald E. Moreland associate director for public services at North Carolina State University Libraries, has been named a 2003 Frye Leadership Institute Fellow. The institute provides a two-week residential program for faculty, librarians, and university information technology professionals who aspire to leadership roles.

* Among those honored April 16 by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities were Judy Boyce, youth services librarian at the West Baton Rouge Parish Library, with a 2003 Special Humanities Award for her work coordinating over 10 Prime Time Family Reading Time programs; and Dianne Brady, who was recognized for 10 years of employment at LEH as project director of Prime Time.

* Sheri Downer, interim dean at Auburn (Ala.) University Libraries, is the recent recipient of a Distinguished Service Award from the Alabama Library Association.

* Randy Dykhuis, executive director of the Michigan Library Consortium in Lansing since 1995, has been named 2003 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year by Wayne State University in Detroit. …
