NRPA President Jonathan Korfhage, CPRP, has been supporting parks in recreation professionals in his home state for years. Now that he's NRPA president, he's been attending meetings with a new NRPA hat. Over the last few months he installed the officers in California Park and Recreation Society in District III, made a short talk at a CPRS District II luncheon and another at the California special districts conference. Later he attended the Washington state conference. "The conference was attended by about 300 fun-loving souls with plenty of enthusiasm for their profession and each other," says Korfhage.

Walt Bratton, CPRP, is the new recreation superintendent for Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department in San Bernadino, Calif. Bratton is active in NRPA's Pacific Southwest Regional Council and he serves on the Commission for Accreditation of Parks & Recreation Agencies. He has earned both the NRPA and the APRS Young Professional Award.

The UCLA Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead, Calif., is the location of the Pacific Southwest Maintenance Management School, to be held Nov. 16-21. Learn practical and innovative methods in management and maintenance. This program, which focuses on state-of-the-art facilities maintenance management issues, provides a three-year educational program that's specifically designed for grounds and facilities maintenance personnel.
