Top man quits KLP as it denies uncertain future

Leading sales promotion agency KLP has been hit by a top level departure -- client services director John Stokes.

Stokes resigned last Friday but says he will continue to work with KLP as a consultant "for as long as they feel they are getting a benefit from my services".

There are apparently no plans to find a replacement because the agency is undergoing an internal restucturing intended to lead to greater efficiency.

The decision to quit after just over a year with KLP was, claims Stokes, "because I want to sit down and have a good look at other opportunities. There are things I want to consider which I couldn't do while fully employed at KLP." It wasn't a result of the restructuring, and was "entirely amicable".

The KLP board is now significantly smaller than it was a year ago. Managing director Andrew Barrett, who replaced Steven Callender in May, heads a team of four. …
