MEDIA: Labour Hires Redwood to Overhaul Magazine

The Labour Party has handed Redwood Publishing the task of relaunching its Inside Labour magazine, as it seeks to strengthen links with members in the run-up to the next general election.

Redwood won the business following a competitive pitch that is believed to have included John Brown Citrus Publishing and incumbent Big Agency.

It is not clear what changes Redwood will make, but they could include renaming the title.

The Labour Party wants to make the magazine more relevant to members and give it a 'campaigning' image.

A party member said: 'Inside Labour tends to be the organ for the Labour Party leadership to talk to its members - there's usually Tony Blair or Gordon Brown on the cover. It's not what you would call a scintillating read.'

The relaunched magazine is likely to feature fewer politicians and include more on the members themselves.

The magazine is sent on a quarterly basis to about 250,000 members as part of their membership package. …
