Information Access Company has enhanced their TOM Health & Science Reference System to include full text of articles on CD-ROM. Current TOM Health & Science subscribers with microfiche may purchase this full text package for $100.00. This new and enhanced system is the first and only product of its kind available to school libraries with the complete text of articles on CD-ROM.

"Schools have been very receptive to the full text on CD-ROM with our TOM General Reference System," said Morris Goldstein, Information Access Company President. "We expect that the availability of cull text for the TOM Health & Science Reference System will be equally well-received because it further enhances students' research capabilities."

The TOM Health & Science Reference System, is the most recent addition to the TOM family of school library products, which was introduced in the fall of 1990. It was designed in response to the requests of school librarians who saw a need for a comprehensive, up-to-date automated collection of health and science information. A few of the topics covered in the system include: communicative and infectious diseases, healthcare, human anatomy and physiology, human psychology, astronomy, biology, and environmental sciences.

The TOM Health & Science Reference System provides quick and easy access to indexed articles in more than 50 publications; half are health titles, half ar science titles. The cumulative index, contained on CD-ROM, integrates all references from January 1989 to the present in the file.

The TOM Health & Science Reference System also offers on microfiche over 35 of the indexed magazines, filmed cover-to-cover, starting with January 1990 issues through the most recent month's issues; two thirds are health titles, one third are science titles. …
