Ei has contracted directly with technical editors in the Soviet Union to provide English-language abstracts of engineering journals published in their countries. This direct provision of Soviet data will increase the speed of access for users of Ei Compendex Plus and Ei Engineering Specialty Discs. Ei has provided the Soviets with a customized version of its in-house software for data entry so the abstracts can be rapidly integrated into Ei print and electronic reference tools.
