Maxwell Announces Medlines on CD-ROM for Practicing Physicians

Article excerpt

Maxwell Electronic Publishing (MEP) has announced the launch of a new product line, Personal Medlines on CD-ROM, developed to meet the needs and budgets of physicians in practice and research. An annual disc will cost as little as $195.

The first Medline product to be released is The Physician's Medline, which contains five years of abstracts from the 150 top medical journals across all specialties. The journal selection was made by information specialist Professor William Goffman, and Kenneth Warren, M.D.

"We developed The Physician's Medline to help doctors get the information they need, when they need it, at a price they can afford," says Dr. Warren. "I know the frustration of not being able to locate the article I need in a hurry from the shelves and piles of journals I have in my office.

"Now, on one affordable CD-ROM, at their desks, physicians can quickly find and print out abstracts of all the articles published in the best medical journals during the last five years. The Physician's Medline is a life saver for doctors and their patients."

The new MEP product line also features a series of Specialist's Medline CD-ROMs, developed by medical information specialists and edited by respected physicians from each specialty. Each CD-ROM contains five years of references and abstracts (over 200,000) from the Medline database in each specialty.

The Specialist's Medline CD-ROMs available currently are:
