The marketplace for search technology is filled to overflowing with bright and thoughtful marketers, technicians and visionaries. We gathered many of the leading ones into a panel in March, 2004, to discuss the state of the search market ("hot"), the technology currently in place ("amazing") and the emerging trends in search, classification and retrieval ("you're not going to believe it").
We started with a small set of prepared questions, and immediately threw it out. When you have a group like this, there is very little need for a script. The key subjects on their collective mind turn out to be the same issues that every businessperson in the knowledge economy faces every day: How do I deal with the amount of information I'm faced with? And how do I create value from that information? This guide links "the face with the name" as you read this month's interview.
