My tenure as your chair has been both personally rewarding and enlightening. As I look back over a year that has passed far more quickly than I imagined, I am struck by the incredible strength of RMA.

The Council structure allows us to tap into the remarkable range of talent within our membership. When combined with the professionalism, dedication, and energy of the RMA staff, it's hardly surprising that RMA remains at the forefront of risk management leadership.

RMA's greatest strength, however, is its members. As I traveled across North America and to Europe, speaking at various chapters and attending board meetings and conferences, I realized just how much we learn from each other. In many respects, RMA is as much about personal growth as it is about professional development. As RMA celebrates its 90th year, I would like to thank the many members who have contributed so generously to making this a dynamic and thriving professional organization.

The diversity and depth of RMA's board are yet another strength. I am delighted that Rick Harbaugh has agreed to serve as chair for the coming year. I know he will provide us with the leadership necessary to ensure that the Association continues to flourish and evolve, and I have no doubt that with his guidance we will be well positioned to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
