The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS) is committed to fostering and disseminating LGBTQ research and scholarship both in the United States and abroad. CLAGS is online (www.clags.org) and their site includes CLAG's Online Directory of LGBTQ Studies, a searchable collection of scholars within universities and non-governmental organizations, and fields of LGBTQ Studies available nationwide. The United States Student Association and college students across the country called their legislators on April 14, 2004 to garner support for a bill that would make immigration easier for the same-sex partners of U. S. citizens. The Permanent Partners Immigration Act would allow U. S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who are in permanent same-sex partnerships to sponsor their partners for immigration purposes (The Advocate, May 14, 2004).

Shannon Minter, transgender attorney, activist and scholar, and currently Legal Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights in San Francisco, received an Honorary Degree from the City University of New York School of Law on May 21, 2004. …
