Dwight Asset Management Co. of Burlington, Vt., a subsidiary of Old Mutual PLC of London, has promoted Jeff Norris to chief operating officer.

Mr. Norris was the senior vice president of client relations for the asset manager's insurance clients. He joined the firm in 2001 from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., where in 21 years he rose to vice president of retirement and savings.

At Dwight Asset Management he succeeded Laura Dagan, who had earlier been named president and chief executive officer, and to whom he will report.


Northern Trust Corp. of Chicago has named senior vice president Werner Vetsch as the head of operations and technology for its U.S. investment operations outsourcing business.

The business serves investment managers who collectively manage more than $550 billion of assets.

Mr. Vetsch had led Northern Trust's investment management liaison group since 1999, overseeing divisions that serve more than 1,200 investment managers.

Earlier he had been a vice president and the head of the adviser services group at Bankers Trust Co., which Deutsche Bank AG bought in 1999.

Nationwide Financial Services Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, has hired J. Mark Barnett as its vice president of investor relations.

He was the director of investor relations at H&R Block Inc. and had worked for four years at the Kansas City, Mo., company.

At Nationwide he succeeded Kevin G. O'Brien, who had earlier been named the chief financial officer of the company's individual protection business.


New York Life International LLC of New York has hired Sandra Bograd as its chief compliance officer and a vice president.

Ms. Bograd came to the New York Life Insurance Co. unit from American International Group Inc., at which she had been the assistant general counsel and had worked seven years. …
