Andrex tops the chart while Esso's tiger claws his way in

Vauxhall's massive advertising investment behind the Astra has given us new commercials in the Atkins series. They are designed to freshen up the campaign in time for the August 1 registration scramble. The Astra is doing well in sales terms and as we have indicated before its main target is the Golf across Europe. Awareness of 62% in the UK will help.

The Bradford & Bingley is, according to its advertising, one of the few remaining High Street building societies still offering independent fianancial advice. Others who went down this route have all withdrawn from this way of marketing and have gone "own-brand". The independent brokers are striking back with a campaign of their own. Bradford & Bingley reaches 59% of our sample.

The oil companies have never been slow in coming forward when they feel they've got a relevant corporate message to make - in this case it's Esso, which has changed agencies but kept the Tiger. …
