MPD Network Signs Agreements to Expand Network
Article excerpt
The MPD (Materials Property Data) Network has signed agreements with PDA Engineering, the Plastics Design Library, and the Optiz Corporation to provide three new materials property databases exclusively online through the Network on STN International.
PDA Engineering and the MPD Network will be working together to provide online access by late 1993 to the PDA Engineering databases on aerospace materials, including composites. This cooperative effort will provide the MPD Network with its first database on composite materials and will also enhance its coverage of property data for aerospace alloys. Composite materials systems covered in the file will include graphite/epoxy, graphite/polyimide, graphite/polysulfone, high-modulus graphite/epoxy, and silicon carbide/epoxy.
The Plastics Design Library, a service group of William Andrew, Inc. of New York, will be working with the MPD Network to create a new database, PDLPLAS, that will cover virtually all properties of engineering plastics. PDLPLAS will cover plastics as well as polymer-matrix composites, hybrid (polymer/non-polymer) composites, films, fillers, reinforcements, coatings, rubber, sealants, and adhesives. …
