In a world where being part of the "liberal left-wing media" is sometimes painted as a sin against God and humanity, there stands Margaret Cho, the outspoken comedian, activist, and woman who introduced "Is he the gay?" into the pop culture lexicon. She's also full of surprises. With the recent reelection of President Bush, Cho is understandably back in action and ready to take down some baddies with her upcoming Assassin Tour, but in a curious twist she's also seeing the positive side of things.

OK, wait--you performed your State of Emergency show through swing states hoping to open eyes and motivate voters, Bush won, and you're hopeful?

I was really depressed and upset about Bush winning the election, like a lot of people. Things seemed really scary and sad and hopeless, but then I thought about it, and there are a lot of things that we can do to find hope.

How so?

We're sort of lucky because we know that George Bush is going to luck things up, so we might as well make the most of it and have fun.

What is it you--and presumably your fans--will go on to "assassinate"?

This tour is about finding levity in the situation and taking that opportunity to shoot down all of those false idols like homophobia and George Bush. …
