The end of the school year brings to mind thoughts of beginnings, endings and transitions. This is a good time to look back at the last year and celebrate the many successes we have experienced. This is also an important time to look toward the future and anticipate the changes yet to come.

We are at the end of the ACTE fiscal year. As we look back, we proudly acknowledge the work of the Board of Directors and scores of volunteers who worked tirelessly to implement programs and services that added value to the work of each and every member. We can look back and congratulate ourselves for the advocacy efforts that resulted in the unanimous passage of the Perkins reauthorization legislation in the Senate and strong support for the reauthorization in the House (at press time the House had not yet acted on the legislation). We can look back at a very successful Annual Convention with close to 6,000 people in attendance. We can also be proud of the Association's Assembly of Delegates as it concerned itself with the proposed reorganization and the needs of the CTE profession.

Personally, I look back with a sense of gratitude and pride for the professional staff working every day on behalf of ACTE and the profession. The efforts of this staff resulted in a positive cash flow and a balanced budget for the year. All of this was accomplished with fewer available resources. Our goal was to continue to serve and provide value to each member every day. …
