Throughout 2004, a task force of IREM members convened to shape the future of the Institute's decision-making and governance activity. Our discussions reinforced the fact that running a responsive, proactive organization requires an essential ingredient for success--your involvement. Ongoing participation from you is crucial as we strive to realize our vision: to become the leading edge resource for the real estate management industry.

As we move through 2005, we will continue to bring our vision into focus. How will we know when the vision has become reality? When the Institute can anticipate your professional needs and proactively create new tools for your success. For this to happen, we need open and active lines of communication.

To facilitate the exchange of ideas and opinions, we have added a scanning tactic to our research. The term "scanning" encompasses our enhanced efforts--both formally and informally--to monitor the industry and listen to our members. By listening to what you tell us about your problems, your concerns and your dreams, we can deliver more effective solutions. …
