Transcripts from 50 programs carried by the Cable News Network (CNN) are available electronically through the DataTimes international information network. The new service means that users can now search through the transcripts of both recently broadcast and past CNN programs to retrieve news and analysis, including the unedited coverage of important national and international events.

More than 1,000 other information sources available through the DataTimes information network also can be searched simultaneously with CNN in a technique called "global searching." That in turn enables DataTimes subscribers to quickly and thoroughly gather and share competitive intelligence, monitor political developments or track economic and industry trends, and without having to know a specific publication or broadcast title to target.

The full-text transcripts of the CNN programs are added to the worldwide DataTimes network 24 hours after first broadcast by CNN. Transcripts of programs back to January 1, 1991 are stored as well.
