The beautiful cities of Stockholm and Helsinki paid host to the CEMS Annual Events 2004, where a packed programme kept the CEMS stakeholders busy from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th of December.

The CEMS Executive Board engaged in debate on the many important strategic issues that lie at the heart of the organisation on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Meanwhile, some 37 representatives from the CEMS Corporate Partners attended a benchmarking meeting on the Friday morning. This was the first year that such a meeting was organised during the Annual Events and it proved to be a successful forum for the exchange of ideas and best practices amongst HR practitioners and industry specialists.

The Annual Meeting was, as per usual, a key moment for the CEMS community to take stock of the past year's challenges and achievements, to welcome new members to the CEMS community, and bid farewell to some stalwart CEMS champions. A new event in the CEMS calendar took place after the Annual Meeting: the EBF Business Conference on 'Reward and Motivation Systems: How Do They Affect Recruitment and HR Policies?'. The conference proved a great success, with lively debate and exchange.

The Corporate Partner representatives maintained a hectic pace at the Career Forum, where the information stands attracted a steady flow of interested students and alumni. Meanwhile, the Alumni Association hosted their Annual Meeting that morning, a key event in the CEMS alumni calendar as the new Executive Committee was elected for a two-year mandate. That afternoon, 135 students received their degrees in a graduation ceremony, clearly a very important event for all of them in their transition from student to young professional. …
