Could Kinga's show of bottle spell the end for Big Brother? We rang the broadcast regulator to make our views known.

Mktg In view of Kinga's behaviour with a wine bottle on Big Brother and all these ridiculous complaints about it, I wanted to make sure you are looking at both sides of the story.

Ofcom Well, we can certainly make a note of that. Did you see the programme?

Ofcom Yes. I really like Big Brother and want to complain about all these whingers. They don't have to watch it if they don't want to.

Ofcom We'll be conducting a thorough investigation into the number of complaints we have received.

Mktg It would be interesting to see how many of them are from young people. From my point of view, Kinga is at ease with her sexuality and just because some people are not, that shouldn't be held against the programme. Some people are saying Channel 4 should stop Big Brother, but that would be a tragedy.

Ofcom We'll take both sides on board.

Mktg But what happens now? These complainants are obviously old ladies. I'm worried you'll be forced to see their view and that younger people who think that it is good TV won't be able to get their point across.

Ofcom We look at the material in the context of our broadcasting code and will also look at the warnings that went out. …
