TransUnion LLC, the Chicago credit reporting agency, has hired Scott E. Schubert as its chief financial officer.

Mr. Schubert was the CFO and an executive vice president of the British telecommunications company NTL Inc. Before that he had been the CFO of Williams Communications Group Inc. of Tulsa. Earlier he had been the vice president of global financial services for BP Amoco PLC (now BP PLC) and, before that, the vice president of worldwide financial services for Amoco Corp.

At TransUnion he succeeded David Emery, who earlier had been made its chief operating officer.

Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati has expanded the duties of Jayne C. Diedrich and given her a new title: senior vice president of retail de novo growth strategy and delivery for its Chicago operations.

She was already in charge of retail delivery for Fifth Third's 132 branches in the region but will now also oversee a multimillion-dollar plan to build, move, and consolidate branches. She has also joined the Fifth Third Bancorp unit's executive management team in Chicago.

Ms. Diedrich joined Fifth Third in 2001, when it bought Old Kent Bank, where she had been a senior vice president and the north Chicago retail regional manager. She has 15 years of banking experience.

Fifth Third also announced that Raymond J. Webb would succeed Dan Sadlier as the president and chief executive officer of its western Ohio operations when Mr. Sadlier becomes the regional chairman Sept. …
