ISI Releases Monthly Updates for Two Disc Products

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) is now offering monthly vs. quarterly delivery for the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) compact disc products with abstracts. A quarterly, non-abstract version will continue to be offered. These products are available now.

"The monthly delivery option will offer greater currentness, particularly for librarians, informaion specialists and researchers in fields where access to up-to-the-minute information is critical," said Hank Riner, senior vice president, New Prodduct & Editorial Development. "The monthly versions of the SCI CDE with Abstracts and the SSCI CDE with Abstracts offer dual benefits--real-time information and expanded data through the inclusion of English-language author abstracts.

"We are further excited that we can offer this monthly option for two key cited reference products at the same time that we are releasing the Macintosh version of the software," continued Mr. Riner. "All the features found in the IBM and NEC 9800 Series, such as cited reference searching and Related Records, will be available in the Macintosh version. Searchers will have the additional advantages of working with a product that adheres to the Macintosh interface guidelines. …
