Camp ALA Registration Form

June 23-29, 2005--Annual Conference and Exhibition, Chicago, IL

Camp ALA is open to children aged 6 months--17 years from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Friday, June 24-Tuesday, June 28. The total cost for the program is $80 per child per day. Parents pay $48/child/day, and ALA subsidizes $32/child/day. A $10 per child nonrefundable registration fee is also required. The per day price includes field trips on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for children aged 6-17 years. Field trip topics to be announced. The camp fee and field trips do not include lunch. Parents can purchase lunch on this registration form or bring lunch. The deadline for registration is May 6, 2005. Although every effort will be made to accommodate registration after the deadline and on-site, ACCENT cannot guarantee acceptance of children unless they are pre-registered. I/We agree that a fax or photocopy of my/our signature on this form shall be deemed original and shall not affect the validity of this form. We will assume your child will attend during the hours registered. If your schedule changes, we need as much notice as possible. We will accommodate you as best we can based on availability. You will receive a refund for a cancellation received in writing at ACCENT Office by May 31, 2005. You will receive no refund for a cancellation made after that time. "No shows" receive no refund. This policy is to ensure proper staffing, which is in the best interests of your child. ACCENT reserves the right to substitute programs of same or greater value, or cancel programs based on enrollment. ACCENT also reserves the right to limit participation of any child whose presence or behavior may disrupt the program or endanger the health or safety of other children. ACENT staff do not administer medication, and any child who is ill will not be admitted to the Center.

First Time Conference Attendees and Library School Students

New to ALA? Feeling overwhelmed? Get a fun and informative introduction to the Annual Conference and the New Member Round Table. Learn how to navigate the exhibits, how to decipher the Conference Program, how ALA really works and how you can get involved. Attend the NMRT Conference Orientation on Saturday, June 25 from 9:00 am-11:00 am.

Fun Run

Due to a lack of sponsorship, ALA will be unable to hold the Fun Run at the 2005 Annual Conference. We hope to continue the Fun Run in the future.

Local Information

The Local Information Desk, sponsored by the Chicago Local Committee, will be located in the McCormick Place Convention Center Registration Area. Days and hours of operation will appear in the Conference Program.

No Smoking Policy

By Council action at its 1991 Atlanta Annual Conference, it was resolved that "smoking is prohibited at Midwinter Meetings, Annual Conferences, regional/national conferences, continuing education programs, exhibits and other gatherings sponsored by the ALA."

Internet Cafe

Sponsored by TLC, the Internet Cafe, introduced at Midwinter 1997, will be open Thursday, June 23, 2005 through Tuesday, June 28, 2005, 6:00 am-10:00 pm daily. It is located in the McCormick Place Convention Center and features a comfortable place for attendees to sit down, grab a free cup of coffee or tea, surf the Internet, check e-mail and visit with friends.

Interpreter Services
